What type of presentation to walleye in Lake Erie prefer?

The type of presentation for walleye fishing in Lake Erie is a minnow and a jig. The best way to present your bait is drift and cast. However, you can troll and catch just as many walleye. If you are fishing the fall months use a larger sized minnow. The fall season is when the walleye are getting ready for the cold winter months when they move slower and do not eat a lot. The fall months will produce some aggressive eaters if you present the larger sized bait. Something smaller is not going to attract the attention of the fish. They are going for the big baitfish at this time of the year. The presentation is important, but the more important aspects of fishing walleye is the area, time of year and the way you resent the bait. You can keep it very simple when making your presentation. There is nothing elaborate needed when fishing walleye. Lake Erie has some places for walleye fishing, but the time of year and water conditions will be a determining factor as to how you will make your presentation. As long as you present the live bait with a lightweight jig, you should have no problem getting some hits. Remember that the lightweight jig is better than a heavier jig. A heavier jig will cause more short strikes and you will lose the fish and probably the bait. Just do some drift casting and keep the bait alive, which means that you may have to change it if you do not get any bites.
