How Far Can You Run Your In-Line Planer Board

Category: Uncategorized

Can you tell me how far out I can run an in-line planer board?

The reason you use a planer board is so you can run multiple lines and cover more areas of the water. You can safely run your lines out about maximum of two hundred feet on the bigger waters when the water is clam. Of course, you need the right equipment to do this. Your rods have to be a minimum of seven feet long. Now keep in mind that the tips are up in the air to keep the line off the water top.

The type of board you use will also play a role in how far out you can throw your line. If you are using a side planer board, it will have less of a chance to roll. You want to take into consideration of wind and the waves when adjusting you distance. However, the side planer board is nice for any weather or water conditions and you can usually decrease the distance a little when the weather and water is rougher.

If you are on a smaller lake, you may have to decrease the distance to fit the size of the lake and the space. If you have a lake that is populated with anglers, you may have to decrease your distance so you do not interfere with someone else’s lines. If you keep these few things in mind, you will know the distance you can go without having any problems. Just make sure you have a good sturdy rod and not something that cannot handle the distance.
