Where can I find walleye in the early morning on lakes?

Where on the lake is the best place to find Walleye in the early morning?

If it’s summertime, the Walleye prefer a water temperature of about 73 degrees. The best time to fish for Walleyes is going to be late at night or early in the morning as they try to avoid direct sunlight.  As the sun starts to rise, the Walleye will be heading back to deep water from the weedbeds where they’ve been feeding.  If you’re out early enough you may be able to catch them on the return but they’ll be back in deeper water shortly after the sun rises.  If there isn’t any structure in the area, they’ll head right to the bottom of the lake depending upon it’s depth.  In very deep lakes, you’ll find them suspended between 20 and fifty feet below the surface.  While the Walleye will still attack bait that is presented during the day, if you really want to haul in a catch, try night fishing.
