The Worlds largest Northern Pike

What is the world record northern pike?

There have been many individuals who all claim to have caught the world’s largest northern pike. However the pike that has been documented as being the absolute largest was caught in Little Vermilion Lake. The northern pike was 27″ long and weighed over twenty pounds. It is important to remember that pike fishing is increasing in popularity and there are several tournaments all over the world today. Those fish anglers that say he or she has caught the “big one” in essence probably have; however the worlds largest was in fact 27″ long. Fortunately, many fish anglers catch the pike for sport and then simply throw then back into the water for someone else to catch at a later time. By doing this, obviously the pike often have the opportunity to grow even larger and as they do the next person to catch the pike just might have caught the real “big one.” An important factor in the northern pike species is that they love the cooler water temperatures as well as feeding on other smaller fish as their prey. This also attributes to the size of the northern pike as well. Amazingly, there has been a lot of contention about the world’s largest northern pike and who the fish angler was that actually caught it; but in all fairness unless the catch is documented then the catch is simply hear say. So, if you want to be the one that can honestly say you hold the record for the world’s largest northern pike- is to make sure it is documented in some way. There are several web sites that offer information about the true worlds largest pike caught as well as the details about it. %u2028
