Is there any walleye fishing at all in Illinois?

Illinois has a reputation for being a hot place to fish for walleye. You can fish for walleye from one end to the other when you are in the state of Illinois. The rivers are the best place to fish for walleye and everyone who has ever fished in this state can tell you that it is incredible. Some lakes besides the Fox Chain O’ Lakes also have walleye since the stocking of the lakes by the hatcheries. Two popular places for trophy size walleyes are Kinkaid and Shabbona lakes. The Fox Chain O’ Lakes, all fifteen of them have walleye swimming around. These lakes are located in northeast Illinois. If you were to ask any angler what they are using to catch them in the state, they will tell you minnows, leeches or night crawlers. However, if you have a frog pattern popper, you are going to catch the walleye right away. You will want to concentrate on fishing water depths of 10 to fifteen feet to get the walleye. The boat traffic is something that the walleye is use to and it helps mix things up underwater. The baitfish scurry for safety and usually never get away form the walleye. You are going to have some incredible walleye fishing in Illinois and the catch is going to be awesome. You will also see many anglers out on the lakes fishing for walleye and some other fish species in certain lakes. It is a great fishing state to be in if you love fishing walleye.
