How can we consistently catch legal walleyes (15-20 inch) to eat on Alleghany River in western Pennsylvania?

Me and my brothers are experienced walleye fisherman. We fish the Alleghany river in western PA. We catch hundreds of walleye and sauger each year for several years now that rarely get larger than 12 inches with maybe one 5 pounder a year. We’ve tried small to large chubs, suckers, shiners and lures, and we catch most at dusk. How do we consistently catch legal walleyes (15-20in.) to eat?

It seems that the walleye that are of legal size to keep and eat are hitting on jigs and night crawlers, worm harnesses and the number 13 Rapalas. The anglers are reporting the walleye to be 15 to 20 inches and a few as big as 20 or more inches. I would suggest trying these bait and lures to hook the legal sized walleye. Another thing is that these anglers are fishing the Allegheny River in Warren County. They are also fishing the middle Allegheny River, which seems to be drawing some good catches. You might have to look deeper for the legal size walleye. Try fishing off the rock points in about twenty to thirty feet of water. You can also try fishing around the underwater structures near the shoreline. It appears that anglers are catching legal sized walleye in the Allegheny River and the Reservoir. By changing your baits to the above mentioned you and your brothers should have no problem attracting and hooking some legal size walleye. Keep in mind that during the summer months that are approaching us, the walleye are going to be located around the areas where the currents are faster and the water is warmer. The best time to fish this area is at night. You just need to change your bait and fish the faster currents for the larger walleye. The fishing is picking up quite nicely this year in the Allegheny River, so fishing is going to be great this year again.

why do walleye eat night crawlers. night crawlers drown when you put them in water thats why they come out of the gound in a rain storm? so why would a walleye eat a night crawler, they cant be swimming in a lake i wouldent think. But i know they work i have caught hundreds of walleye on crawler harneses
