Have you ever fished Carr Creek Lake? it is rated Good for Walleye fishing. I have been there one time last summer and had some motor problems and did not do well. I am looking for a lake I can consistently catch walleye on near eastern kentucky. Carr Creek is a little over two hours from my home. Any advice would be super.

I have never fished Carr Creek Lake personally, but I know many anglers that have with good success. The walleye fishing at the lake is rated very well. The news that I have heard is that walleye fishing is the best during the summer months, particularly during June and July. They say that if you use a night crawler and troll the bottom of the lake, you can catch some nice sized walleyes. They catch them any time of the day. I did hear that the best time is when it is overcast or right before the sun moves higher in the sky. The walleye are known for moving out of shallow waters as the bright light from the sun appears, but they can be found in about twenty to thirty feet of water. However, some other lakes in the area have some fine walleye fishing as well. Nolin River Lake is another place for some fine walleye fishing. One thing to keep in mind is that the different lakes and rivers are good for walleye fishing at different times. If you are just two hours away from Carr Creek Lake, there are other lakes that are near by that have walleye. From what I hear, the water temperature during the summer months is best for the walleye. I know they move into channels for spawning, but I have not heard about anyone fishing during this time. Look at the local fish reports to see when the best time is for walleye.
