Get prepared for Wolf River Walleye %u2028 %u2028

What should I know before going to the Wolf River Walleye Run this year?

Wolf River located in Wisconsin is known around the world for great walleye and white bass fishing. However, not all of them do well while fishing. You will need to keep an eye on the fishing reports and the weather. But if you’re from out of town and are working, you may not have the time to check all this information out. Locals needless to say will normally have the benefit of being up to date on the conditions. You can fish all year long for walleye at Wolf River. Try and check as often as possible those fishing reports to get a sense of any type of cycle that may be going on. Use the internet to your advantage, and even call on the reports. Make sure to get your tackle ready before you go. If you need new tackle get the up to date equipment. Check into a medium action rod with a spinning reel, and try and get a graphite one. The normal length that is used by most walleye fishers is around 6 ’ to 7′. When picking out the rod see which one feels more comfortable in your hands. Get some extra jigs in different sizes and weights. Add some color to your lure, for walleye go with one of the following colors; red, blue, silver, chartreuse, and perch. If you have all the tackle you need and have been waiting for that day of vacation, then head out to Wolf River. Try and stay up to date on those fishing reports, and check them while you are there too. Of course, look for the normal areas where walleyes love to be at. Deeper water is one of the most popular areas, but you can find them in shallow water in weed beds, around a bunch of rocks, or even around a log that might be in the water. Be patient and check different areas and different lures to see what they are hitting on the most. %u2028
