Selecting a Good Walleye Fishing Rod

What guidelines can you give me for selecting a good walleye fishing rod? Money isn’t an object…

When you are looking for a rod to fish for walleye, it is important that you know when you will be fishing for them. If you are fishing in the winter, you do not want a rod that is destined for sunnier days and vice versa. The walleye are best caught with a light to medium duty rod. Every manufacturer on the market will design and sell these rods. You do not need an expensive rod to fish for these fish as well. You can purchase these rods at your local sporting goods store or if you have a Wal-Mart type store in your area you can pick up excellent rods there. Fishing is only an expensive sport if you want to spend the money. Some of the leading manufacturers of these rods are: zebco, Mr. Walleye and St.Croix. All of these rods can perform the action necessary for a variety of prices. You can usually locate the zebco for as little as twenty five dollars. This is a sport where money does not matter; you will find a rod for twenty dollars just as good as or better than a three hundred dollar rod. It is dependant on your budget and what you want to spend. In addition, a rod will not matter if you are4 not paying attention to the habits of the fish as well as the right lures and live bait. These fish are best fished at dawn and dusk as they are sensitive to light.
