Five Tips for Walleye Fishing in Maine

The presentations of walleye fishing are straightforward. The walleye will either see a crankbait or a crawler harness. When fishermen use a crawler harness the goal is usually to allow enough worms beyond the last hook in order to ensure that the worms are able to wiggle, as this will encourage the fish to take the bait.

Another of the very useful tips whilst walleye fishing is the depth of the water, and this makes the difference between a good fishing trip and a bad fishing trip. The depth of the water is always changing, depending on the area in which you are fishing and the structures that are surrounding it.  The best walleye waters are ones that are full of good food sources, so it is a good idea to think a bit like a minnow for a minute or two in order to work out the best areas.

There is a vast number of fishermen that prefer to fish during the evening hours, as they feel that this is the best time to catch walleye.

There are some fishermen that have caught walleye within this area that are about thirty feet long. There are a lot of fishermen that have caught walleye at between eight feet and one hundred feet in depth.

There have also been some fishermen that have set out on fishing trips in order to target bass only to end up catching a vast amount of walleye. There are other fishermen that have set out targeting walleye and end up catching nothing but bass and perch. There are a lot of fishermen that, during September, target a vast array of different species of fish.
