What’s The Best Way To Catch Walleye From A Canoe?

Tips For Catching Walleye From A Canoe For the most part catching walleye from a canoe can be tricky. However it is not impossible, and some fish anglers prefer to fish for walleye by boat or canoe. When using a canoe to fish for walleye, try to be as quiet as possible. Such as when rowing or using the oars to get from one area to another. In fact, if it is possible some fish anglers actually claim it is better to let the canoe drift. Running along the shoreline with a canoe is an excellent place to fish for walleye too. Far enough to the point that those fishing on the banks can’t cast out, but close enough that the walleye feel safe. These are usually the best areas to fish for walleye. Another means of catching walleye from a canoe is to use several different poles or have a means of using several hooks attached to a stick of some type. This allows you to move slowly through the water, dragging the bait for the walleye to attempt to bite on. Bait that is moving is usually best, however bright lures work effectively as well. Fishing from a canoe isn’t as beneficial as perhaps fishing from the banks, however some of the bigger walleye are also found in the middle of lakes. It is important to remember that walleye like deep water and won’t go into shallow water for very long. So in essence a canoe allows you to go into areas where the deeper water can be found.
