Using a bottom-bouncer rig is suggested when fishing for walleye on Lake Ontario because the weight will bounce off the bottom of the water and this in turn creates a little slack in your line. You will also get better results when you use lightweight line if you avoid using bait that is too small. When setting the hook you should make short strokes and not jerk your line very hard or you will pull it right out of the walleyes mouth.
