Iowa Walleye Fishing Spots and Locations

If you think lake fishing is great, you must try the two rivers that are over run with walleye. The Raccoon River and the Des Moines River have kind of been forgotten about and the walleye are just waiting to strike your bait. If you have a hankering for a walleye dinner, you must take a day at one of the rivers. You can catch some good-sized walleyes around the dams. Once your close enough and save enough from the dam, just start engaging the walleye to come and feed. On the Raccoon River, you will find yourself by the North Fork dam and the Fraser Dam on the Des Moines River.

When fishing these two rivers, stand in the shallows of the water nearest the dams tom catch some nice sized walleyes. You will not find anything disturbing about dam fishing for walleye. Once you start your catch, you will have found yourself one great fishing hole. Of course, your gear for this type of fishing is different from boat fishing, but the catch is fast and your limit is caught early enough to try your luck for some other fish somewhere else in the Iowa area. Enjoy, enjoy, enjoy is what walleye fishing is all about in Iowa.
