Evergreen Lake is a reservoir just a short drive north of Bloomingdale.
The lake is habitat to the walleye hybrid, but no one every really
fishing for this fish here. The fish are over eight pounds and even
though they are hybrids, they still have the awesome taste of the
walleye itself. The reason that there are so many sauger/walleye is
because of the large amount of shad in the water. The shoreline is
undeveloped and the steep breaklines are great for fishing any time.
The majority of the anglers go for the other fish species, which means
that the walleye hybrids are just waiting to be caught.
Pittsfield City Lake is a great place to fish for walleye. It is about
three miles from the city and has some nice sized walleyes weight about
five pounds or more. It is not unusual to catch a ten-pound walleye in
the lake. If you fish in this lake, you will find that the competition
is almost non-existent because it is a remote lake and most anglers
fish for the largemouth bass. You can launch a boat in the lake, but
there is a ten horsepower limit that is strictly enforced.
This is a great place to fish for walleye and catch them.
This small list of fishing lakes will keep an angler fishing for a long
time. There is not reason to stop, when you have so many lakes where
walleye fishing is prime, but fishing for other fish is what other
anglers do. You will be on the lake with no competition to worry about
when you fish these lakes.
