May 23rd 2010.
Been fishing Vermillion hard with little to no luck. A walleye tournment here had horrible results. where are all the fish?
It is hard to believe that there has been no significant weather patterns to have upset the fishing yet no fisherman came to the scale with 6 fish with a combined weight over 7 pounds?? Since I spend the majority of my time in South Dakota and the rest of the time in Florida... I am a bit confused with where to target the fish? And why is it that the locals will not "promote" their fishery by advising a visitor where to have a little luck. It seems more common to "lie" than tell the truth.? Go to Florida and a guide many times will give the coordinates and a map to go with.... in South Dakota the guy might get in his boat and drive you to the spot. Do these people really believe that a weekend tourist who is coming to their community to spend hundreds if not thousands of dollars in the process can do more harm than good? - What happen to that "Midwest" kindness and friendliness that once existed? Lets share the good fortunes of the fishery and get the people excited about coming to MN for some fishing.
By the way.... where are the fish?

I agree - especially if Lake George is murky, then the glow lures will help you catch more walleye.

If it's a bright sunny day, you may also have better luck if you add a scent added to your lure, as walleye have a keen sense of smell.

Thanks for the tips on catching walleye!

There are walleye in the schuykill river but most come from blue marsh. When there is high water in the spring they leave the res and go down stream. Along with the cats. they are caught once in a while near the old dams on the river down to Philly. We've gotten walleyes up to 26 inches but they are rare. You would have more luck fishing for cats or stripers in the Schuykill. I have plenty of info on walleyes in different areas. The susquie is problably the best place to fish for them. Early spring and the last heavy rain around November in th bloomsburg area. So real good fish get taken but no one wants to talk about them. Check my website out. I change pics every few days on different hot spots.

hey sept is an awsome month for walleyes they realy are stapping on the old feed bag you realy should think about fishing at night this time of year check your calender though you will want some moon light all the lakes around where i live are or have gin clear water and aside from the first few weaks of seson they (walleye) reteat to the deep holes and hold tight untill the sun sets and with the moon rise so do the eyes feeding in the shallows (2-10 feet) agressevly jig and minnow are always the best bet but your minnows should be at least 4in. long or more a rapala #13 husky jerk is a grat lure for this type of fishing swim baits are also a go to lure for eyes again 4 or 5in. with eiter a 3/8oz or 1/2oz jighead in clear water natural colors seem to be the most productive although the firetiger is always apatizing to the eyes one ting i forgot if you find cabage weed you will find eyes
